Selection Process
Applications must be received by February 5, 2024.
The AHP Canada Council will review applications for funding from the Michael K. Petrie Memorial Fund (The Petrie Memorial Fund) annually using the following process:
- Any Canadian healthcare development practitioner in good standing with AHP may apply for funds from The Petrie Memorial Fund through the provincial representative of the AHP Canada Council, or Chair/Vice-Chair of the Canada Council, where a provincial representative has not been recruited.
- The provincial representative will act as the gateway to access these funds and will provide oversight to the requests.
- AHP International will work in collaboration with AHP Canada Council to grant The Petrie Memorial Fund awards in conjunction with its other educational awards.
- Requests will be ranked according to the priorities set out in the Fund's terms of reference.
- Total annual disbursement will not exceed CA$1,000 or 10% of the fund's value (whichever is more), determined at each fiscal year-end.
- Awards will be paid to the recipient or the recipient's organization by the AHP Canada Council Treasurer, from The Petrie Memorial Fund account, entrusted to the Hospital Development and Education Fund of Canada (HDEF).
- A cheque will be issued to reimburse the organization or individual incurring the expenses when the project or course is successfully completed.
