Tori Peacock

Sr. Philanthropy Officer, Transformational Giving

Sunnybrook Foundation

Tori has established herself as a trailblazer in healthcare philanthropy, starting at SickKids Foundation where she restructured the stewardship program and significantly contributed to the record-breaking $1.7 billion SickKids VS Limits Campaign. At The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, she excelled as manager of donor experience and stewardship impact, implementing personalized stewardship plans and innovative initiatives that enhanced donor engagement. Transitioning to Sunnybrook Foundation, Tori now focuses on transformational gift fundraising, preparing for a capital campaign with her strategic acumen and dedication to nurturing meaningful donor relationships

As I completed my master's degree, I had the opportunity to undertake an internship which ultimately led to my first role at SickKids Foundation. It was during this experience that I realized my passion for healthcare philanthropy. The ability to feel motivated and connected to such a meaningful cause every day solidified my determination to pursue a career in this field.

Honestly, my parents influenced me significantly. Coming from a family of fundraisers, I've witnessed both of them dedicate themselves to various hospitals and campaigns throughout their careers. While I took my time to reach this decision, exploring other avenues, nothing else resonated with me like healthcare philanthropy. It's where I feel a genuine connection and sense of purpose that I haven't found elsewhere.

For the past eight years, I have been dedicated to stewardship and donor relations. In February of this year, I took a significant step by joining the Campaign and Transformational Gifts team at Sunnybrook Foundation. This transition was something I had been contemplating for a while, and I believe it was the right move to align with my long-term goals and expand my experience.

I am truly passionate about my job, but I guess that’s evident! Outside of work, my love for travel has ignited a deep passion for cooking and baking. I enjoy experimenting with different recipes and have a fondness for diverse cuisines from around the globe. Whether I’m trying out new dishes or bookmarking recipes for future adventures in the kitchen, there’s always something exciting cooking in my world.

I would advise jumping in and saying yes to every project and collaboration opportunity that comes your way. Additionally, I highly recommend volunteering in the sector. Through various conferences and events, I've made valuable connections and lifelong friends.

Fun Fact

I have been to 35 countries and more planned!
