Meaghan has made a profound impact at Huntsville Hospital Foundation, driving significant growth and success in fundraising efforts. Since joining in 2022, she spearheaded the $10 million Focus on Imaging Campaign, securing Muskoka's first MRI and surpassing goals with strategic stewardship of major and minor donors. Her leadership extends to planning a $35 million capital campaign for two new hospitals, where she leads the Campaign Planning Steering Committee. Meaghan's achievements include cultivating relationships with major donors, such as securing a transformative $1 million donation and managing complex gifts like a $1.6 million cottage bequest. Recognized as a leader in healthcare philanthropy, she presents nationally and chairs committees, embodying a commitment to innovation and community impact, positioning her as a future leader in the field.

While working with a not-for-profit organization in Ottawa, I worked closely with a consultant to develop a fundraising plan. A year later, that same consultant recruited me to join their team in healthcare philanthropy, and I haven't looked back since!

Witnessing my grandparents' need for healthcare influenced my career path. It was clear to me how important healthcare is and it just made sense. I wanted to be a part of the bigger picture, and help the community have access to new technology and medical equipment.

Two important milestones in my career stand out. The first was joining the team at the North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) Foundation as an Annual Giving Officer, a role I truly loved. 

The second milestone came after I had moved out of town. I was fortunate that the CEO of the NBRHC Foundation introduced me to the CEO of the Huntsville Hospital Foundation. That introduction set the path for my current role as Director of Philanthropy with the Huntsville Hospital Foundation.

When I think about my passion, it's my family, friends and Foundation family. 

Passion related to my career is about cultivating relationships with donors and witnessing their philanthropic interests come to life. It's the smile, laughter, tear, or sparkle in the eye that shows true impact. When a donor sees firsthand what they did.

Continue learning and engaging with your colleagues and peers. Volunteer with AHP and attend conferences to help connect with others in the industry. By connecting and sharing ideas, insights, and best practices, we can all grow together.
