I got into healthcare philanthropy through my current hospital's foundation president, Kristen McCall. She was building a rock star team and I was attracted to how the hospital's fundraising efforts made a tangible, real change in our local community.

I love helping people, plain and simple! Getting to see our donor's dollars at work to impact real lives in my local community is extremely rewarding, and it fuels me to make this world a better place.

Being in development over the last decade, I have had the honor of working with some incredible, powerhouse female leaders who have been fantastic role models for me when balancing a successful career and a family. Over these first nine years in my career, I have had the pleasure of managing six maternity leaves!! It's a unique one, but every single maternity leave I have covered has taken me out of my comfort zone, stretched and grown my skillset and allowed me to make decisions I would not have otherwise had the opportunity to make in my 20s and now early 30s.  The trust and responsibility given to me from my six supervisors has propelled me into new heights of my career and has given me extensive exposure to c-suite executives and community members I otherwise would not have been able to do if I were not trusted with this responsibility.

Being the good in this world. I feel compelled to bring my best to the table every day because I genuinely feel called to shining a light on a world that is in need of love and human connection.

Buckle in!! Healthcare philanthropy is ever-changing and so different from any other kind of philanthropic fundraising. The level of expertise, passion and fulfillment is different in our world, and it takes years to truly understand how BIG and incredible of an impact you are making on lives in your community.
