Her commitment extends to founding Step Above Stigma, impacting over 100,000 youth, and launching the Women's Nonprofit Network to empower women in the nonprofit sector. With a strong foundation in marketing from Queen's University, Hailey continues to drive positive change and inspire authenticity through her diverse contributions and leadership in the field.

I graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce and a strong foundation in marketing. During my time at university, I worked with a mental health charity, which ignited my passion for merging my marketing skills with a desire to make a positive impact. This experience revealed to me the profound effect that dedicated support and advocacy can have on individuals and communities, particularly within the healthcare sector. After graduation, I had the opportunity to work with Fertility Matters Canada, which further solidified my commitment to using my expertise to drive meaningful change and support vital healthcare initiatives.

I chose healthcare philanthropy as my career due to a blend of personal background and professional experiences. Growing up in a family deeply rooted in healthcare—comprising nurses, paramedics, chiropractors, and psychotherapists—I developed a natural appreciation for the field. This familial influence instilled in me a profound respect for healthcare professionals and inspired a strong desire to contribute to the well-being of others. My professional experiences, particularly working with nonprofits, further solidified my commitment to making a positive impact through healthcare philanthropy, merging my skills and passion for driving meaningful change.

A pivotal point in my career was in April 2024 when I led Fertility Matters Canada's largest campaign, Canadian Fertility Awareness Week. The campaign reached over 500,000 Canadians and significantly raised awareness about fertility issues nationwide. This achievement showcased my ability to manage large-scale initiatives and garnered recognition for marketing excellence in the nonprofit sector. It also led to influential conversations with key figures, including the Honourable Marci Ien, and featured coverage in major media outlets like Global News, Yahoo, and CBC. This experience solidified my commitment to healthcare philanthropy and highlighted the importance of strategic communication and advocacy.

My greatest passion is helping people. It brings me immense fulfillment and a sense of purpose, motivating me to strive for excellence in my work, whether through direct support, advocacy, or strategic initiatives that drive social change. Knowing that my efforts can improve someone's life, even in a small way, is incredibly rewarding and keeps me dedicated to this path. Helping people is not just a passion—it's a fundamental part of who I am. It shapes my values, drives my career choices, and inspires me to make a lasting, positive impact in the world.

Your approach should center on three essential elements: connection to the cause, storytelling, and data. When you are deeply connected to your organization's mission, your passion becomes contagious, inspiring others to join your efforts. Effective storytelling further strengthens this connection by forging emotional bonds with your audience through compelling narratives about those your organization serves. While storytelling appeals to the heart, data provides the rational foundation, demonstrating the concrete impact of your initiatives, showcasing progress, and ensuring transparency. Integrating these three elements enables you to craft persuasive narratives that drive support and propel your organization's mission forward.
