Director, Donor Relations and Stewardship

Kaley is a leader of both ideas and people in her role at Atrium Health Foundation. She underscores the mission of our team, the foundation, and the organization at large in every level of her work, from regular meetings, to reports to donors, and in high level strategy planning. Perhaps her greatest strength is her ability to lead people.

Kaley is excellent at managing in all directions; her direct reports feel supported, advocated for, and entrusted with their work. Her peers look to her for best practices, creative solutions, and a fresh perspective. When managing up, Kaley prioritizes her communications and asks, balancing level of urgency with level of importance. Across the board, Kaley is known to be a leader that is thoughtful, innovative, capable, and inclusive.

Today, Kaley works with a variety of teammates, from the enterprise CEO's staff, to physician leaders of service lines, to all levels of foundation staff and directly with donors and vendors. In her previous role at the University of Southern Florida, Kaley led teams across the donor relations field, working with philanthropy staff and educational and facility partners. Each interaction is a chance for Kaley to strengthen a relationship, increase efficiency and understanding, and ensure a high quality of work. 

Kaley's commitment to philanthropy is evident in her career trajectory and her personal interests. Her family's scholarship fund champions diversity initiatives and enhances educational and leadership opportunities for underrepresented students.

My love for healthcare philanthropy began with Atrium Health Foundation in Charlotte, North Carolina. I was fortunate to work alongside incredible teammates and leaders dedicated to the mission of improving hope, health and healing for all. And now I’m thrilled to continue my career as a leader in healthcare philanthropy at AdventHealth Foundation West Florida.

I chose this career field because I find purpose in helping others and believe everyone should have equal access to quality healthcare services. I love celebrating the generosity of our donors, creating meaningful engagement experiences and sharing compelling stories of impact. I’m particularly driven by the art and science of this work—building relationships while also creating operational strategies for organizational success.

A crucial step in my career was landing my first job after college at the University of South Florida Foundation in Tampa, Florida, and continuing on to serve 12 rewarding years with the organization leading donor relations and stewardship programs. During this time, I gained valuable experiences, learned from mentors and mentored others, honed my leadership skills, expanded my knowledge on industry best practices and built lasting relationships.

A pivotal point in my career journey was a shift from higher education philanthropy to healthcare philanthropy.

My greatest joy is being a wife and mom. I am passionate about setting a positive example for my children and advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Fun Fact

My career in philanthropy was first inspired while attending grad school at Kansas State University and working as a graduate assistant for the K-State Athletics’ development team. I learned the fundamentals of fundraising and the power of philanthropy to change lives.
