In her first year at the Prevent Cancer Foundation, Becca secured $1.24 million of new corporate funding. She currently manages a portfolio of 100 existing corporate funders and prospects and oversees planned giving.

Becca has developed several new initiatives for the Foundation, including a corporate membership program launching in 2023, a health equity fund to show the combined impact of programs and campaigns in the area of health equity, and a needs assessment to reengage and identify new ways to assist 100+ community grantee organizations across the country.

In her previous role at the Society of Interventional Radiology Foundation, Becca successfully launched the organization's first online fundraiser during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic when an in-person Gala was cancelled. 

I fell into the nonprofit world almost 11 years ago while volunteering at a community-based organization in Orlando, Florida, when a database administrator role opened on staff. That role grew into a campaign associate position and I taught myself how to conduct prospect research while I was there. In 2015, I was hired by a kidney health organization as their very first prospect researcher. I've been in healthcare philanthropy ever since, having done everything from special events to major gifts and now corporate and foundation relations.

I've had the pleasure of working with amazing colleagues and incredible volunteers in this career. I love that you can be truly innovative in healthcare philanthropy the same thing won't work every year so I constantly get to try new ways of doing things to make a difference. The work I do will have an impact on people for years to come and that is truly rewarding.

When I was 28 years old, living in a new city and a few months into my first healthcare philanthropy role, I heard the words that nobody ever wants to hear: You have cancer. Because of an early diagnosis, a talented medical team and a solid treatment plan, I've been cancer-free for almost seven years. Now I work at an organization that focuses solely on cancer prevention and early detection and the mission is very personal to me.

My greatest passion is building relationships and creating new and innovative partnerships. There are so many new early detection innovations on the horizon and I get to meet weekly with the companies creating them. It's fascinating! I'm in the process of launching a corporate membership program, which will give current and prospective partners a brand-new opportunity to engage with the Prevent Cancer Foundation on a new, personalized level.
