Requirements: |
|
-
Knowledgeable about, and experienced in all aspects of fundraising
- 10 - 15 years experience in a fundraising environment
- 3 - 5 years experience at a middle or senior management level
- An undergraduate degree in a related field, e.g. Health Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite and Raiser's Edge, or equivalent database program
- CFRE designation an asset

- Knowledgeable about, and experienced in, all aspects of fundraising including: individual, corporate, foundation and supplier fundraising, direct mail, and special events
- Able to develop winning solicitation strategies and analysis, as well as solicit/recruit prospects
- Able to work with senior volunteers and staff to advise and make recommendations about the Foundation's fundraising and development activities
- Able to understand the needs of a geographically diverse organization and suggest solutions that maintain a harmonious relationship
- Able to develop an annual fundraising plan that reflects the Foundation's needs and goals
- Have at least five years of experience developing complex planned giving/major gifts strategies supplemented by extensive background in marketing, sales, public relations, or customer service within a social profit environment
- Able to interact with donors, prospects, volunteers and staff in a gracious, respectful, and helpful manner to accomplish the Foundation's fundraising and development goals
- Capable of utilizing our database to meet fundraising needs, creating and implementing critical paths, and sharing fundraising and database knowledge with volunteers and staff
- Able to work well with senior and junior level volunteers to initiate projects and motivate them to accomplish fundraising and development goals
- Must be a team player willing to mentor others to achieve fundraising goals
- Willing to embrace and practice the philosophy and vision of the Foundation

Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation is the largest Hospital Foundation on Central Vancouver Island, generating over $4 Million per annum. The Foundation generates income primarily from fundraising as well as a coffee kiosk and through their Lifeline program. The Foundation is seeking a dedicated person to join the senior management team as Director of Development & Legacy Giving.
Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation is the largest Hospital Foundation on Central Vancouver Island, generating over $4 Million per annum. The Foundation generates income primarily from fundraising as well as a coffee kiosk and through their Lifeline program. The Foundation is seeking a dedicated person to join the senior management team as Director of Development & Legacy Giving.
Reporting to the CEO, you will assume responsibility for directing a dynamic department, supervising a young team comprised of Planned Giving, Special Events, and Annual Giving/Marketing professionals. You will also be responsible for leading the Foundation's next major campaign and the ongoing development of planned giving and major gift initiatives. You are a highly organized individual who is a multi-task thinker capable of managing several projects simultaneously, and able to delegate, monitor, and manage the work of others. Your main focus will be implementing and monitoring campaign plans, managing and mentoring a high performance team, and the timely cultivation and solicitation of prospects.
