Helping You Transform Health Care Through Philanthropy

AHP Strategic Plan 2016-2018

AHP is pleased to introduce our new three-year strategic plan, which furthers our pledge to continually improve your membership benefits and member experience. By joining AHP, you demonstrate a commitment to further both your career and our profession. We are honored to help each of our members achieve those goals.

The planning process was driven by a desire to understand our members’ needs. Led by the AHP board of directors and a strategic planning committee made of up key volunteers, we surveyed nearly 500 members last spring to find out what you found valuable about your membership and how AHP can be even more beneficial to you.

We learned a lot. You told us that you enjoy connecting with peers at AHP conferences. You appreciate learning from individuals at the forefront of best practices in our industry. You value transformative, deep-dive programming like the Madison Institute. We will look for ways to improve and build on those experiences, while making enhancements like the mobile app we launched for the 2015 AHP International Conference.

But you also told us that at this time of change in our industry, AHP needs to step up and provide more. More content that helps you succeed at your job. More ways to access information where and when you need it. More opportunities to volunteer and lead within our organization.

We will do that. And we’ll explore new ways to get that valuable information to those who need it: The front-line fundraisers who need tips for making donor calls or writing a direct mail piece; the chief development officers and directors who need to run their shops while keeping an eye on wider trends; and the hospital CEOs and other decision-makers who need to understand the importance of philanthropy and the work that you, our members, do.

Take a moment to explore more details about the new plan below.

Why a New Plan?

Health care is changing rapidly. AHP understands that to remain relevant, we need to provide our members with the information they need, when they need it. Like you, we can’t keep doing business the same way.

We know the work you do is noble. AHP is proud to stand with you in 2016 and beyond as the membership organization that helps you succeed in that work.

Our Thanks

In addition to the numerous AHP members who shared their thoughts and experiences through the strategic planning process, the plan could not have been completed without the work of these volunteer leaders.
